Modular Meditations was setup in March 2024 after conversations with Mish Mash Arts Cafe on Capel St. The concept was to provide a space for musicians to play live electronic music outside of the confines of a nightclub setting. The premise is to perform a live patch with a Modular Synthesizer coming in unpatched and for the performance to have as little pre-programmed material as possible. It was to give musicians a chance to explore their systems in public in front of a small audience. The aim was to provide a low stakes event where people can gain confidence and experience. It’s been a really enjoyable community to establish and be a part of.
